How does Iridium Burst work?
Broadcasting
- The sender formats the message, specifying recipients, locations, and any optional details.
- Iridium Burst validates, schedules, and forwards the transmission to the Iridium gateway.
- The gateway sends the data to the appropriate satellite(s).
- The Iridium network “bursts” the data to deployed devices.
Receiving Messages
- All enabled devices in the target area receive the transmission.
- Only devices in the recipient group can unscramble the message.
- The field application retrieves the data from the device.
